Shipping luggage

    Hi folks,
Just wondering if anyone's shipped their excess luggage with a shipping company, and if so could they recommend any?

I've been living in Lyon since September, and come the end of May, I'll need to move all my stuff home to Dublin (i.e, clothes, books, etc.) Taking the ferry's not looking like an option, so I'm looking into sending suitcases with a private company (aer lingus charge €9/kg excess baggage  ) So far I've gotten two quotes of around €350 (for two large suitcases, Lyon-Dublin). Does this sound like a standard price for this kind of thing?
    Any advice is much appreciated.
    Cheers :)

Was behind a lady in a post office today sending a large suitcase with address affixed to Australia.

For Registered Post, An Post charge €18.25 up to 5kg and €1 per kg in excess of that up to a maximum of 20kg.

Perhaps French postal service offer something similar with the security of tracking.
