Available until Sat 9th April at Super Valu Stores - Benecol 500g for €4.50 (saving of almost €2.50). A similar offer in Tesco expired last week. Benecol is a very over-priced product, in my opinion, so I only buy during promotions like this one.

Who ever would pay 4.50 for a tub of butter needs their head read !!! Also you would have to eat a lot of that Benecol butter per day for it to be of any benefit to your health

I agree, it's like the old sales trick the petrol stations had with their super duper unleaded petrol.

That was ordinary unleaded called super and had a hefty price because there are always certain people who like to think by paying higher prices and because they pay higher they think they are getting a better product .

Benecol is a cholesterol lowering food. Butter often has the opposite effect for persons diagnosed with high cholestrol. For me, €4.50 is a much cheaper option than a prescription and medication. And, in my case, done with the GP's monitoring and approval.

Buy Flora Proactiv instead it's €4.85 (2 wks ago), or go up the North. It's €3.80 up there for rip off Benecol.

Waste of money for most people but if you've got high cholesterol then this is obviously a much better idea than butter. It's a pity companies like to rip people off on health food, gluten-free, dairy-free etc.

The health benefits of this crap are completely overstated and exaggerated.

It's a highly processed food that is **** for you.

Butter is healthier all day long.

Sorry, OT but had to get it out there.

Someone should have sued Danone when Actimel was proven to be ****. And worse still, their ads were banned in the UK (they couldn't claim they had health benefits anymore) but we still have to look at that unfounded crap here.

Butter is healthier all day long.

Even for someone who is dairy alergic/intolerant?

What are you talking about? Super unleaded was 98 octane and great stuff for certain cars. Regular unleaded is 95 octane. Wish I could get proper super unleaded still. What a post.
