Ah ok but not withstanding the 3000 euro every 4 months clause, is there a actual limit of the amount of money that can be put inside a switch current account? for example what happens if my account balance goes over 4000 euro or more?

I have a switch current account and a loyalty one with ptsb - I don't think there's any limit to how much you can have in either. I've had large-ish amounts (imo!!) in both from time to time. The only limit I've come across is that you can't transfer more than 25k from one account to the other in one day.

I might be wrong but I can't see why any bank would put an upper limit on what you can have in a current account.

There is no upper limit that I have ever heard of.
