Looking into learning how to make web sites

    Hi all

    I was just wondering, i am trying to learn how to make web sites? I am handy enough with a computer and the internet, and just want to train on making web sites.

    My question is what is the best route to go down, where do i need to start or what type of course should i be looking into? or what books?

    My goal would be in a few years i could have a job in web development and could get a decent wage.

    Please if anybody could give me some advice that would be great.
