iPhone 4 home button is recessed / edgy

I have an iPhone 4 on contract with O2. I have it since last September.

Recently, the home button has become slightly recessed (not flush with the main casing). When pressing the button, it now feels more “edgy” and a little wonky. It just seems as if you have to try a little harder to press it.

Would Apple / O2 recognise this as a valid fault, or would they put it down to wear and tear? If it is a fault what is the recommended route to repair for me?

    Thanks in advance.

Probably wear IMO, but no harm in asking them.

I had a similar problem, Apple will charge you to fix the problem and your insurance will not cover it..

Ok, thanks. Any idea of costs?

If you got it in September and they decide to replace it under warranty there shouldn't be a cost unless you opt for the optional "replace and collect" model which costs €29.

Look here, i got mine changed for 29 euro.

Don't pay anything, should be covered under warranty, just tell them it is unresponsive.

Be prepared for Yellow tint iphone if you get replacement, at first i didn't like it , now actually it is more perfect screen.
    Good luck

Yeah, because you went with "replace and collect" which is an optional charged service. The collect and return repair method is free.
