    Certainly makes things a tiny bit easier (there will still be a solid 11-12 medal contenders come Daegu though). She was in stunning form last season and would fully have expected her to be on the medal rostrum.

    However I doubt Derval has even taken any notice of this though. Too busy focusing on her own performance.

    "A real bull of a woman" as Tim Hutchings once called her on Eurosport. Congrats i say but its pretty bad planning imo. Throw in one or 2 of the top contenders underperforming (like they always do) and Derval is right in with a chance of a medal in Daegu.

    True, though Sonia missed the 99 worlds for the same reason and came back strong for the Olympics.

    There's a history of women coming back better after giving birth in distance running (Constantina Dita being the big one) but I'm not sure if it is a factor in sprinting.
