This is one of my friend's pieces. The cheeky ****er sprayed it on the 96FM building. I thought After Hours might appreciate it.

he is the cork DJ who months ago got caught playing with himself on a flight from London to Cork.

he just started back at work yesterday and people (apparently) still think its funny to continue mocking him over it despite having months to get over it.

Cartoon is funny-ish, but didn't really need to be painted onto what I am assuming is private property.

tell your friend he's a scumbag for wilfully defacing someone else's property

    Or an artist.

Scumbag's such an overused term these days.

And yet Banksy is celebrated across the world.

Anyway, can we all drop this Prenderville stuff, we've all known he was a wánker for years, but we still love him.

Scribbling your name on a wall is a dousche thing to do...

Creating a clever and witty stencil like that is art. And placing it where he did added to the humour involved

It doesn't have to be in a museum or gallery to be art

What if you stencil your name?

Haha I said if you create a stencil like that. That being a figure etc.

Also some name stencils are pretty cool, depending on where they are. Banksy put his name on some rocks in the giraffe enclosure in a zoo in Spain for example.

Eh, he is not celebrated around the world. He is just "cool" with famous people and the hype that surrounds him is not deserved. If you have seen five banksy pieces, you have seen them all. It is a gimmick, not a very good one either. So it was okay for a while but it is like family guy now, just random crap thrown together.

Policemen + kissing = wow, cool provocative art
Hello Kitty + oral sex on a Lion = wow, cool provocative art

I expect Banksy to be in the next Oceans 11,12,48 film, that is how "cool" he is, he can be in a film that is not about anything, just marketing itself to be more cool which is cool.

:o Eh back on topic, OP is your friend Banksy? Cause it is a complete rip-off of a not so talented stenciler. Stencil art goes in the same talent shelf as cover bands and people who trace art, it don't require any original talent.

Could we please avoid derailing this thread with serious discussions on the merits of street art and instead stick to the topic of laughing at and mocking the **** DJ.

    Thank you.

Fairly sure he's from Cork. Remember Matt Cooper (from Cork) saying he went to school with his brother.

It's very near the mark though. I has always struck me as odd that you can buy books on Banksy in the likes of the Louvre bookshop, but try to put one of his works on their walls or pathways and you won't last long. Over-rated at this stage. That's why Banksy had to vary the act a bit. The guy has skills but is a bit of a one-trick pony.

lol , of course it's funny. Binned quasi celebrity yanks member on flight.

    How is that not funny?

To be honest, most of his pieces are just Blek Le Rat knock off's. The most interesting thing about Banksy was normally his willingness to to pretty crazy places to do his pieces.

mmm, cos it is pretty funny. I doubt if I did a bit of gusset typing on a plane in front of, to mention but one, a journo, that people would have got sick of slagging me about it. If I also happened to be a particularly sanctimonious preachy twonk it may even last forever. Luckily I'm able to control my urges in public.

He's originally from the city. Top of Patrick's Hill as far as I know.

Yeah I always thought he was from Blackpool, but then someone advised me he's from the far less street cred Beaumont. :)

I doubt it was due to lack of control as opposed to being out of it though - someone in his career is not going to knowingly risk it.
I can't stand the man - never could, and some of the light-hearted jokes are funny (the "The awkward moment when you ask for mayo in the Boardwalk" Facebook page - love it :pac:) but I personally find the OTT abuse unnecessary at this stage. He's being punished enough by the mortification.

Kudos for "gusset typing" though - I'm gonna have to steal it! :D

Hasn't Aer Lingus banned him for life? He now has to fly Ryanair anytime he needs to get of this godforsaken Island, I think that's punishment enough. The funny thing is that he's from Cork, hate to be him.

KG, it's not like he farted on TV or his pants fell down during a football match 20 years ago through no fault of his own and people are still taking the piss. The guy got wasted and started cock-walloping on a plane in front of other passengers, FFS. This will stay with him for a little longer than a few months.
