Different oil viscosities when topping up oil?

May be a simple answer. But I've been finding it difficult in finding the recommended 10w40 fully synthetic oil (without getting it shipped over) for my Honda Accord Type R.

But seem to have no problem finding 0w40 and 5w40 locally.

Is topping up with 0w40 or 5w40 on top of the original 10w40 in the block recommended, or should I just do an oil change completely (which is not due for another 1k).

So, effectively, is mixing oil viscosities ok?

EDIT: All are fully synthetic oils of course.

    Thanks :)

you do not need to use fully synthetic oil for a h22a7 engine,
10w40 semi synthetic is what honda recommend to use for this particular engine.

i have owned a couple of atr's and have run them on both and found the engine runs smoother with the 10w40 semi. plus they drink fully synthetic oil.

unless your tracking the car there is no need to use fully synthetic oil.

Oh ya? Interesting. I've always been recommended fully snyth. And everybody on the owners club swears by it.

Hadn't noticed that it drinks/burns it at all. Has been fine for me.

Oh and no tracking being done in it either. Just as daily.

i used this in my euro r and found it made a massive difference in how smooth and quietly the engine ran, well until the crossover:D

just check with car manual, what oil to use. Wouldnt suggest mix up oils, even different brands.

    is it accorg.org your on?
the lads on there do love that stuff but unless your trashing the car around a track and getting the engine hot as hell then there is no need for the fully synthetic stuff.

there are some benefits of using it but for a daily you would be just trowing money out your exhaust.
