How much to remove a tow bar?

    I'm buying a new 08 golf this week, and trading in my 03 golf. I have a tow bar on my car and wish (if it is possible) to get it put onto my new one.
    does anyone know approx how much it costs for this to be done? Or is it a simple enough job for me to do it myself?

    1) it won't fit

    2) the 08 golf needs a specific wiring loom for the electrics,

    Best left to professionals in this case

    Its unlikely it will fit as the connecting points will likely be different. Removing is easy enough, the cabling connecting the lights will be the where you might run in to problems if the original job was shoddy and cables were spliced badly. Theres usually just 2 or 3 bolts either side and then a cable running along the spare wheel compartment through and boot underlay and in to the lights.
