    Hi

I have a 00 BMW 5 series that has been sitting idle for the last year. I think i may have disconnected the battery when i parked it up as i knew it was not going to be going anywhere for a while but i may not have also..i really cant remember. When i went to try open it using both the key fob and the actual key in the door i cant unlock it..doors or boot! Any ideas how i can gain access to it?

I don't know if it'll work for yours, but on a 1991 5 (18?) I could open the boot with key and attach jump leads to boot light when the doors wouldn't open due to discharged battery.

I'd hazard a guess that the locks are just seized due to the cold winter and warm(ish) summer we've had over the last year.

Give the boot lock a good squirt of WD40 and leave it for half an hour. Would at least allow u open the boot to connect a charger to the battery
