    Hi.

As of 7-Sept-2010 these were the holders of the most consequtuve soccer internetional appearances. Does anyone know others or can you help me update this. I presume the consecutive appearances include friendlies (or maybe they only refer to competitive games?).

    70 Billy Wright of England
    62 Kevin Kilbane of Ireland
    57 Theo Zagorakis of Greece

Yes, I was thinking that would be the case. Does he still have that amazing appearance run intact?

Yip, I'm thinking that the Macedonian Game was his 65th consecutive international appearance. (methinks that they're not counting the Wales game as a competitive fixture)

If he plays for the rest of the qualifying campaign he'll equal Billy Wrights record.

But the match against Wales was part of the Nations Cup competition.

Will indeed....however, the selection policy and the unusually large number of withdrawals would seem to suggest that the Nations' Cup is not really regarded as a truely competitive fixture.

Competitive football for European internationals are World Cup and European Championship (including qualifiers) only

Every thing else is classed as a friendly (even if promoters give them a name or trophy)

This would appear to be the case. Although the did have to seek some sort of approval from FIFA.....but neither FIFA nor UEFA recognise it as an official tournament. The dates on which the nations cup is played are defined as friendly dates in their international calenders.

Would it count as a consecutive appear if lets say Kilbane come on as a sub? Or does the player have to start the game?
