problem is the kids would graffiti it then the onboard clock would fail after a few months.... then there would be a few million wasted on it from changing a few light bulbs......... then eventually it would have to be towed to a storage facility where it would costs tax payers millions every year to store it

They have 3 destroyers listed too.

    I love the idea that you have to declare your intentions for the ship, I just have this image of Gadaffi discussing it with some navy type;

    "ehm... fishing?"

Would buying this result in Ireland having its own navy?

I could use this as my boat-house down by the lake.

Then to teach the local hunters a lesson for shooting innocent birds I'll send off a few cruise missiles to blow up the birds in the air just as the hunters take aim...............that'll spoil their day :pac:

Only one 'plane available on that site and it has no engine. Shame, hardly worth buying the carrier now.

You buy the towboat, I'll buy up some cheap storage facility and we'll make a few pound out of it between us

Cariers worth a minimum €1,500,000.00 just for the scrap metal, assuming 95% steel, minus towing, extraction and decontamination, if you were to scrap it in a third world country you would circumvent the environmental issues and labour would be cheap. There is also probably another good few quid in the engine rooms and plant. Probably worth a punt at somwhere around the €500k mark.
Wonder how much they want for it? And before the ecomentalists start roaring at me, this is probably exactly what sombody is weighing up now as we type. Anybody fancy going syndicate on this?:)I'm only half joking.Looking at the other items for sale, they will want top dollar, there are no bargains to be had from what I can see. 10k for an '87 loading shovel, good luck with that.

I know a couple of the fishermen at Bulloch harbour. If they tow it over to there we could get a few lads from the Brack to take it apart in no time at all.

Thinking of getting something like this for Shannon river cruises with the family in the summer months. Maybe pick up an engine in the Buy&Sell.

Well I did say a third world country would be best, but thats^^ being a bit harsh on the Brack. Gormley and Ryan would be fairly pi55ed seeing her lurch up onto Killiney beach so we could get at it with the torches.

Would be a good buy for the Chinese. They're itching to get their hands on the makings of a task force.

For the chinese, this would be the makings of a whole lot of things, once it was melted down and re-cast. Probably what will happen as well.

It's too small. These are toy aircraft carriers, you can't fly normal planes off them, only Harriers and the Chinese don't have any. They would make good helicopter transports and that's about it.

My intentions would be "I plan to sit on the deck in a lawnchair, waving my fist and yelling at the sea."

Could you not just use the ordinary deckchair, like every normal tinpot dictator ? Or are you planning to turf over the deck ?

    *waves fist* :)

So I've added it to my cart.

Then when I try to checkout, a message comes up saying "Please remove any unknown (n/a) prices from your cart".

How are you supposed to buy this thing? I feel like going on a cruise.

No, I'd feel too normal being on a deckchair on a deck. The less logic involved, the better!
