I'm looking for a bit of advice/ information, i'm looking at getting a 2004 Mazda3 and was just wondering what the servicing intervals are? Also, has anybody had any dealings with nononsense for car insurance? They've been the lowest quote that I've gotten so far (1069€ for a 20 yo male in a 1.6 mazda3)
    Thanks in advance

Normally petrol cars are every 10-12k miles or once a year, whichever is sooner.

That's great, thanks for that, it's just that i had come across a figure of servicing every 8,000 kms which is quite a small gap in my opinion

Like above it's about the 10k-12k between services, I'm with that insurance company haven't had any problems with them, they do charge for the likes of temp sub's if you get a loan car if you get your serviced and if there is a need for a change of details they call them admin fees. They are quick to get back to you with queries and they do answer their phones if you ring them, They were the cheapest for me as well 21 full licence on a 1.4 tsi. Does the price include any of the extras??

Thanks for that. :) The price doesn't include any extras, but will be going for at least the windscreen cover and breakdown cover if I'm going with them (still all up in the air at the moment, just trying to figure out what's the best course of action).

Have you tried Quinn? Got a quote of 1250 on a Mazda 6 1.8 last month. Regarding Mazda 3 itself, great car. Uber reliable!

    Oh and I'm 19

I tried Quinn and they gave me a quote of about 1400 i think, on the same 1.6 Mazda 3. So far nononsense are the lowest i've gotten, however i still have to ring around the different insurance companies, i'm just trying to figure out whats the best financial options for me at the moment as i probably won't be in a position to change car for a few years. Thanks for the suggestion about Quinn

Nononsense are FBD Insurance by another name which are designed to compete directly with the likes of 123.ie etc for lower priced insurance. They offer cheaper cover than regular FBD policies by charging extra for benefits that would normally be included on FBD policies.

Also the Mazda3 was available in 1.4 litre too if you are trying to keep insurance costs low, only the hatchback version though.

Yeah, I've been looking at Mazda3's in general, not necessarily the 1.6, however the only ones that I've seen online within my price range have the 1.6 engine.
