Laptop recommendation please

Looking to get a new laptop budget about €500. Use it for home use ,browsing , uploading pictures so card reader required and would like to be able to watch dvd's and connect up to tv so would need Hdmi. Am I better to go for i3 rather than Athlon/pentium/celeron ? Not sure what brand to go for hearing good and bad things…

Not sure what brand to go for hearing good and bad things about all brands. Current laptop is e system years old and the fan has always been noisy so hoping to get a laptop with a quieter fan.
Really have not got much of a clue about computers . Have been to 2 computer shops and have been told opposite thing about makes. Main thing seems to be them wanting to sell me a 3 yr warranty and anti virus(is this really needed?) Help me please:)
