    perhaps someone can inform

    a friend of mine wants to buy a machine in the north
    does he have to pay the vat there?
    i understood there was no vat on something that is being exported

    If your friend is VAT registered in Ireland there will be no UK VAT on purchase.

    Instead he will self account for Irish VAT
