Boots Advantage Cards

I was given a Boots Advantage Card as part of a birthday present and I'm wondering what exactly are they? I know when you buy something in boots it adds points to your card but how and when do you redeem your points and how many points do you need to buy something or do you get a voucher?

Sorry for all the questions by the way!!

Help would be greatly appreciated :)

seeing as they are free, it was a cheap pressie!

On the other hand, you get 4 points for each euro you spend and each point has a value of 1c.

When you have enough you can pay IN FULL for an item. You cannot pay cash and points, it has to be one or the other.

All the information is on their website. You can register your card to keep track of points and how much they're worth.

Nobody would give an empty Boots card as a present in fairness. Go to Boots, ask them to check the points on it first (they put it in the same machine as a laser card to check). If you have 300 points, it equals €3 to spend, 3000 = €30 etc.

You have to spend all of it as one transaction i.e €29.88 will cover you for 3000 points, but €30.01 wont because you're 1 point over.

Id say you'll be pleasantly surprised if you check the balance of the card.....:D

Also if you use a voucher, like a no7 voucher or that you wont be able to use the boots card with it. You cant part-pay!!

    Thanks guys :)

Yeah I'll be going into boots to check how much is on it cause my friend said she forgot how much she put on it hah.

Kind of annoying the way you can't part pay for something but ah well!

You don't have to spend all of it as one transaction - I've often had about €80 worth of points on my card and spent say €40 or so and left the rest of the points on the card.

It's true that you can't part-pay so you just need to have enough to pay for what you want to get in full and then whatever surplus points you have remain on your card.

Ok good to know, ive never let my points build up far enough to know that :D so i generally have always used the points in one go.

So if I wanted to buy perfume i couldn't pay using all my points to the value of €30 and then €30 in cash?

Nope, it has to cover the entire cost of the item I'm afraid.
