Cyfra+ - safe bet for EPL

I have been thinking about buying a dish etc. for football for a while and am really tempted by Cyfra which seems to be great value. My question is if I buy now is there much risk that they won't have the premier league next season or the year after?

You only buy the card from year to year so it doesnt matter anyway

What I mean is; if I buy one now in March, is there a chance that they won't have prem league next season and then I only get 2 months EPL out of my sub?

I copied the below from another forum. A list of confirmed Premier League contracts for the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons. Which includes the Poland Cyfra +
Although I am not sure about the source used to compile the list.

Premier League 2010/11 Rights
There seems to be quite a few questions about this for next season so I thought I would create a thread dedicated to which channels are showing the EPL next season (and for the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons).

Confirmed

France - Canalsat
Number of games shown not yet known, based on current deal all Sky/ESPN games and 1 3PM game on Canal+ Sport and one on TPS Star.
French commentary only

Poland - Cyfra+
Number of games shown not yet known, based on current deal all Sky/ESPN games and 1 3PM game.
Polish commentary only

Spain - Digital+ / Gol TV Shared
Unknown number of games or how rights will be distributed between Digital+ and GOL TV
Current La Liga rights deal allows the same games to be shown on Gol TV and Digital+ so could be similar
GOL TV not available on satellite
Digital+ show FA Cup with English commentary so should be the same for EPL.


Germany - Sky Deutschland
Up to 5 games per week, probably the same as this season.
Has English commentary.


Italy - Sky Italia
Probably the same as this season.
Has English commentary.


Holland - Sport1
Probably the same as this season, only 0 or 1 3pm game shown on satellite, all are on cable.
No English commentary.

Details not confirmed


Middle East - Abu Dhabi Media Company

Confirmed to have rights but have not confirmed details of how they will be shown. Could be re-sold to other channels perhaps Showtime for satellite broadcasting.
English and Arabic commentary confirmed

Scandinavia - Medge Consulting

Rights in Norway sold to TV2 Sport
For Sweden, Finland and Denmark Canal+ has teamed up with TV4 to try and win the rights.

Not Yet Sold

Eastern European Countries - Rights being sold by AMI World

They certainly don't always show the Sky/ESPN games. And they took a while before a 3pm game was actually shown this season.

There has been quite a few Saturday lunchtime and Saturday evening games not shown this season.

Would be good if we had a full list of the games broadcast this season on all the various stations with the spanish and Italian and other major leagues.Will probably be going for cyfra and al Jazeera for the new season and need to know if im getting my moneys worth..

I have both and you wont be complaining. I will more than likely be renewing both for next season too.

An al jazeera sub might do you. I think that they have rights to the championship next year (only joking) cyfra are really good for showing the top 4. They rarely show matches between 2 bottom of the the table sides tthey only show them if the same matches are on sky espn

With Multipaket you get Canal+ & Canal+ Film both with the original audio track (english for english movies & shows) and polish.

The movie channel is decent enough. Shows films as quickly as Sky Movies

Yes. The HD card provides the movie channel and main sport channel in HD. You will receive Canal+ GOL too which is kind of like an overflow channel that's active at the weekends.

Spot on thats the one. Canal+ Gol the third sports channel is included too but most of the time does not have anything on it.

I have just found out that a Canal+ HD exists. It is on 10892 H. No idea how long it is there but I welcome it. Now they just need a Canal+ Sport 2 HD

its actually on 11278 v 27500 not 10892. I don't watch canal plus much but I might know that it is in hd

Ok, so I have the satellite installed and receiver hooked up, the card is ordered and on the way (in the UK this morning), so my final question is: short of taking a crash course in Polish, how do I find out what's on on the Cyfra+ channels? Is there a guide in English anywhere?

I used to use the Cyfra site with Chrome and that was very good. Seemingly they have changed the site now and it is hopeless.

Email satsklep and ask then to send a reactivication signal to the card I had to do this last year and then it worked Grand.

Quick one, for the cyfra+ cards, what do you get? 4 channels with English audio for TV and movies, what about the sport, is there English commentary?

Also, what satellite does it need to be pointed at, will the sky one work?

English where available on Canal+ and the movie channel. All Polish on the sport channels. You will need a dish pointed towards Hotbird to receive them. The satellites that Sky use wont work

About an 80cm to be on the safe side which will have to be pointed at 13 east.

Cheers for the quick reply. I have no selected on Disable EMM but still no use.

I might try and go back to cccam 2.1.3 and see if that updates the card.

if you have the hash sign # before these lines in you cfg file then ccam ignores them. remove them and it will apply it
