Disney BOGOF on DVD's (2 for £12.50) and Blu-ray's (2 for £16.50) at Amazon

It's that time of year again... the brief time of year that Disney DVD / Blu-ray prices finally become reasonable with their BOGOF offers.

Picked up Toy Story 1 and 2 on Blu-ray for £15.53 off Asda last year, so this year I've my eye on 'Toy Story 3' and 'Up'.

A couple of retailers have already followed suit but Amazon seem to be the best right now for us (Sainsbury are selling £14.99 BOGOF, but they don't ship to ROI).

As usual with Amazon, free delivery for an order of £25+..

If you order two for £16.50 you don't have to buy anything else to qualify for the free shipping. It calculates the oringal price first £30.36, then
it includes the free post & finally it applies the promotion discount. So your getting your free shipping without having to spend £25.

    Here's an EG;

    Items: £30.36
    Postage & Packing: £0.00
    Total: £30.36
    Promotion Applied: -£13.86

    Order Total: £16.50

    Order Totals includes VAT.
    See details.
Free delivery will apply to this order

Compared this with play.com, they are running the same promo 2 for 1 on Disney and their prices are cheaper by a few euro..

Play.com are cheaper? They don't seem to be.

    They're 2 DVD's for €16 or 2 Blu-ray's for €21, whereas Amazon will work out about €1.50 cheaper.

Nice one. Just picked up four dvds. Wife was only asking about finding nemo, and cars this morning.

Wish I had spotted it last week though, before I'd spent 16 euro on Toy story 3. You win some, you lose some

Play.com offer free delivery so they are cheaper if you are ordering 2 DVDs. ( 2 DVD's from Play = €16 compared to Amazon which are charging €17.95) You only receive free delivery from Amazon if you purchase over £25.

    But as PWEI said above:

Thanks for clarifying that! When I went on to the site first time they were charging me €17.95 but I didn't think you could select free delivery as the order was less than £25. I selected free delivery now and it accepted it. :D

Same with me, I thought Amazon were more expensive because the default is "standard shipping" which pushed the price up. Only saw the free shipping option after checking again.

Ordered from play.com beforehand at €16 which isn't bad anyway.

The Hut Group websites are much the same. http://www.thehut.com/offers/disney-bogof/blu-ray.list http://www.zavvi.com/offers/disney-dvd.list

Of if you'd prefer to pay your tax and contribute VAT towards Revenue as well as spend in the local economy HMV shops are €22 for the blu-rays and I think €16 for the DVDs. I haven't seen them in Golden Discs or Tower.

Amazon is registered for VAT in Ireland so they charge 21% to ROI customers.

Why is this offer not working for me?

I am trying to buy Bolt and A Bugs Life, £16.13 each, on blu ray. So the item total doesn't even make sense, I have nothing else in my basket. What is going on?

Items: GBP 48.39 Postage & Packing: GBP 0.00 Total: GBP 48.39 Promotion Applied: -GBP 15.76 transparent-pixel._V192199769_.gif Order Total: GBP 32.63 Payment Total: EUR 38,48**

I find it bad that I only don't have one of them that's worth getting,Bambi. Have all the Pixars,Bolt and Fantasia

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,316 ✭✭✭✭amacachi

Want Fantasia, anything else worth getting for the looks? Heard Wall E is good.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,409 ✭✭✭Butch Cassidy

Erm most of them! Old(er) films look great on blu-ray so Bambi & Dumbo deserve a shout. The former is particularly fantastic.

Toy Story 1-3, Cars, Monsters Inc., Ratatouille all look great. I am to believe Up is great as is Princess and the Frog (which was hand drawn cell animation).

    Wall-E's great yeah.

    Offer also on at dvd.co.uk

Golden Discs are selling the blu-rays for €14 each instead of a special.

    Just ordered this through Play.com.
It's an even better deal than first thought.I ordered the three tinkerbell blurays,
not only was it bogof but the third bluray went through also at half price for a total spend of €31.50.
