Save me good maths people :)

I am trying without much success to work something out. Maths, however, was never my strong suit and the online converters are confusing me.

    My problem is this:

The US is using pints and half pints as a measurement of a certain fruit.

Irish prices are by weight, grams.

What I need to know is how many grams are there in a US pint please?

    Thanks in advance,

    JG :)

As an extension to Permabear's post, you might be able to find specific conversions for the specific fruit you're converting.

In baking, US measurements are often in cups (volume) while European measurements are mostly in grams (mass/weight). As with your conversion, there's no one ratio. One cup of white flour is 128 grams, but one cup of white sugar is about 200 grams.

You can get charts for baking, so you may be able to find charts for whatever you're doing.

Easy solution. Eat as many of the fruit as you can in a day in the US. Record the proce you pay.

Hop on a Jumbo jet to Dublin.

Eat as many of the fruit as you can in Dublin. Record the price you pay and the exchange rate.

    Exchange your euro into dollars.

    ??????

    Mmmmm. Fruit.
