Why not do it yourself very easy done, and very rewarding, aswell as only costing a fraction of the price

these wheels are very expensive and I wouldn't even know where to start, I'm not messing them up by doing a butch home made job, Money isn't an option, I don't mind paying to have them looking sharp...!

I don't care about saving money by doing them myself, I have money, The cost of the job dosent matter to me once there done right.

A collegue who used to work in the wheel trade recommended Tallaght Powder Coatings. He'll sand blast the current paint off, re-paint and bake the wheels to get a proper finish.

    Looking around €350 I think.

I was quoted about €400 for mine as he would have to have tyres removed and put back on etc.

I was expecting around 200 (based on nothing only what I thought it would be) so I decided against it

I got a quote from Tallaght Powder Coating of €450 to get mine (18") acid bathed, shotblasted and powdercoated. That was before bringing them up and getting the tyres taken off/put back on.

There's a company in Carlow called Carlow Coatings. I dropped my alloys to them today to get them done. For €250 they'll get the tyres taken off, acid bathe them, shotblast them, powdercoat them lacquer them and get the tyres put back on and the wheels balanced. That's a saving of €200 and they're doing a hell of a lot more for me.

EDIT: Also, powdercoating is a lot better than paint as it's tougher and doesn't chip as easily if at all.

Yeah - price I got was based on us getting the tyres removed and re-fitted ourselves.

Have to get a set of wheels from an 11 Superb done as they came Anthracite and should have been silver. No point just getting a re-spray done as that will start to peel when the tyres are changed (according to our expert).
