Ixplora ( http://www.ixplora.com/ ) is a genuine tech/phone site, and though there is an attached forum, Ixplora doesn't compete in any way with boards.ie (just look at my post-number here on boards )
This is a genuine opportunity for the phone lovers here on boards.ie to get a foot into the tech-writers door. (Ixplora's admin - Axxxr - was the long-time news editor for www.esato.com. This is NOT some newbie site trying to use other people's material) THANKS

Writer Position - Unleash The Geek Force Within

Ixplora wants you. Well, maybe we do. We are currently looking for mobile phone and gadget lovers
to join our team as feature writers, reviewers or just to hunt down that hot bit of news or obscure app.
If you think you know your firmware from soft cheese, you may be it.

The web is constantly changing, and internet forums are changing with it - Twitter and Facebook have shifted a lot of chatter away from dedicated forums. To counter that effect we are currently planning new features for Ixplora - to add value for our loyal visitors, and to attract new ones.

But polished buttons and new whistles alone cannot guarantee continued success, and that is where you will come into play:
Are you a good newshound? Can you talk about your favourite (or most hated) gadget without making your friends yawn?
Can you explain the difference between WAP and GPRS and people 'get' it - and will want to tell their grandchildren all about it?

We don't need you to come with great references and an existing portfolio. Just a passion for tech-writing, a wide range of interests and a good bull****-o-metre.

Initially, lets get that out of the way, we will not be able to pay you. You will join a team, and hopefully together we will make the site
more successful - and profitable to all of us. However, we do have contacts, we have been quoted on well established sites.
And in the past companies such as Nokia have provided us with review handsets. Once we know what you can do with a phone and some words, we will be able to provide you with review material. Beyond that - we'll see.

Ideally, you would add a mock piece - a phone review or current news item relating to the phone sector. If you want to write a rant
instead - be it your pet-peeve-ish app fail, or that great final theory for, ahem, Sanyo's secret dominance of the smartphone sector, Go For It.
