Is it possible to shoot Double Trap in Ireland. Had a look at ISSF on youtube, Faulds won Gold in Sydney, and would like to have a go at it in a practise situation.

Generally, DT is shot from an Olympic Trap range using traps 7,8 and 9. In the south there are Olympic Trap ranges are at Lakelands Shooting Centre, Ashbourne Clay Target and Courtlough Shooting Grounds.

However, the schemes used for OT are not the same as DT and the targets will need to be changed by the ground owners and it might be a problem getting that done.

The ICPSA ran some DT shoots a few years back but a lack of interest/cost didn't see it take off.

Thanks for that. Seems to be the same with DTL doubles.
I suppose its down to interest from shooters.
I suspect that Olympic Trap or Olympic Skeet are not exactly attracting the crowds either.

Ashbourne has double rise. its a pity theres not more interest in OT with grounds like Logues Hill, Ashbourne, Lakelands and Castleisland now building a OT layout..
