I'm a 22 year old who never learned to swim. I'm currently working just off Leeson Street and would love to begin somewhere. Any clubs nearby?

What are the rates and how long does it take?

    Hey Scholar,

depends on what you are looking for. i would advise starting off in a group lesson- unless you are very nervous and want the one on one. The group sesson will help you at the start with things like how to position yourself, your kicking, breathing and even how to right yourself so that you are standing up. Amazing how many people cant do that,

Working on leeson street you have the option of the mespil pool at the bottom of leeson street- Ive never been there but i know that they do lessons (group ones).

The Markiewicz Swimming pool (townsend street) does one on one lesson- think its 30e for an hour but for total beginners they tend to split that in half.

As for how long it takes, depends on how much you practice!!! I learnt when i was quite young, never really used it for years but now i swim a km every morning. Good luck with it!!!
