Panasonic Plasma problem

Bought a Philips Blu-ray player on Saturday. Connected it up to the tv with HDMI cable, and a message popped up on screen saying "sending preset data" with a status bar 0% - 100%. The remote control was disabled. After 2 hours, the bar hadn't moved at all. Was able to watch a movie, but can't get the message to disappear. Tried plugging everything out, and using all HDMI ports, but no change. Any ideas?

Check the manual for your TV - the "Sending preset data" message is used in setup mode where the TV thinks its connected to a recording device and it tries to download its channel settingss to the recorder. You'll find the instructions in the manual for setting the TV back to Factory Settings - this will allow you to set it up from scratch if it's got itself "in a knot".

    Ritz.

I do have the same problem with my panasonic plasma 46 in a new combination with a philips bluray-player. I tried the suggestedt solution here, but it didn't work. Question to the first poster - have you been able to solve the problem - in case how?

Phillips are probably the greatest let-downs going, you by it thinking you are getting a fairly premium product yet most budget makes are far superior, I have had enough bad experience with Philips to brand nearly everything they make a POS. Take it back to the store and buy a decent blu-ray player from Sony or Panny unlike those cheap Philips crap.

Don't have a philips blu-ray player ,but do have a panny tv.
Have you lads tried turning off the viera link option on the tv? Or the option for recording through the player ?
