    Hi all,

Managed to get an iPad 2 over the weekend :D - very excited with it and GarageBand was one of my first purchases. Looks really cool, very polished with some nice touches.

What I'm wondering is if anyone on Boards here has had any hands-on use with the iRig that can accompany the app. I like the idea of being able to plug in my electric guitar and have all kinds of effects at my finger tips.

Any reviews\comments would be much appreciated!

I use the Peavey AmpKit which is meant to be the better of the interfaces out there. It uses 2xAAA batteries and thus can reduce the feedback and so forth.

I find it really good, especially with the amplitube and Garage band apps. The Peavey Amplink app is really good too if you're a fan of their amps.

I was really surprised at how good it was and it's dead handy for quiet practicing. For 30 odd quid I'd definitely give it a go!

I have an iRig on the way, should get it later this week so I'll let you know... though I mostly intend to use it with a bass and Amplitube rather than Garage Band.

I have one and it does exactly what it says on the tin. The selection of amps and effects are quite good, although some of the sounds are a bit limited.

Have used it with electric guitar and bass on my iphone 4. Found it very awkward and fiddly for the most part (because of the headphones and guitar cable crossing over/headphones getting caught in the strings) but it's not a showstopper. The iPad screen size would definitely be better to use with this app, I'll plug it in and try it hopefully before the weekend.

Any questions I'm happy to answer them.

    any update on these devices?
    Which one is better?
I am thinking of getting the ampkit for my ipad2.
Is there any guitar shop in Dublin that you can buy it from or do you have to order online?

    Cheers.
