Driver Weights

Just curious - bit of a propellorhead question, but I was checking the swingweights of a few of my clubs recently and was quite surprised at the standard weights of clubs and which are heaviest / lightest.

The putter and wedges are my heaviest clubs and my driver is the lightest.

I have a couple of drivers with very different overall club weight. I'm wondering what the latest and greatest drivers weigh in at these days so what better place to ask people to get out their kitchen scales.....;)

Here are my details - would be curious to see what other clubs weigh in at :

    >> Callaway Great Big Bertha II+ with Aldila Shaft (S) and Lightweight Grip - 290 grammes

    >> Titleist 983K with Graphic Design shaft (S) - 350 grammes

How do these compare to what you guys use out there ?

btw - my question doesn't relate to the calculated swingweight, but to the normal weight of the club when placed on the scales.

Until very recently the standard driver headweight was usually around 200 grams, add in the grip and a shaft and most would be a little over 300 grams.
Lately though manufacturers are making everything lighter and longer to try and increase distance. Cleveland's new driver only weighs 270 grams and has a 39 gram shaft.

Intriguingly pointless (to me) experiment results: ;)
R7 superquad with prolaunch red shaft and golf pride multicompound grip - 320g

270gr is a seriously light stick alright. I had a guy pick up my 290gr driver the other day and he thought it was a ladies club it felt so light in comparison to his.
