Hi. I find the social welfare website very confusing, so I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone can straighten something out for me.

I've been living with two friends for a few years. We are all unemployed and receiving jobseekers allowance. Now me and one of the girls have decided to get together. We'll have to tell the social, right? This isn't a problem, but how will that change our claim? Will we both still get the same amount each or will it be combined and then something deducted?

Any help you can give would be appreciated.

Youse can both still cliam in your own right, instead of one becoming a Qualifed Adult. The money of the €188+€124.80 will be equally split between youse. You both will still be subject to the gunuinely seeking employment conditions and may have more options open to you if youse are both registered as been unemployed.

If one was to become the Qualifeid Adult, note that they will have have the same access to thing such as CE Schemes, BTEA, this is becuase the Qualifed Adult is not suject to the geuniely seeking full time work while the main claimaint is.
