Hu guys i have a VFC M4 ES-105R and i find the delta ring is incredibly stiff making it quite difficult to remove the hand gaurd and replace the battery. Im not very pushed on getting a RIS all im wondering is if there is anyway to loosen the delta ring to make changing the battery easier. Any help would be very appreciated.
    Cheers

The method the delta ring uses to secure the handguard is simply a leaf spring. Traditionally VFC tends to do things rather well, so you may have a spring that's simply too strong for your liking. There's nothing to stop you swapping it out for an ACM delta ring which, in the vast majority of cases, would be a damn sight easier to manipulate, but operate in exactly the same way.

Thanks dude and just before i go pulling at the delta ring is there an easy way or more importantly a right way and wrong way to take it off.

It's screwed on. There's a specific tool, like the kind of spanner used on an angle grinder, to take it off. If you're in a pinch, you can substitute a long nose pliers or, better yet, a long angle nose pliers. There's a set of holes along the inner delta ring, place the pliers into the holes at 9 and 3 and apply slow but strong pressure anti-clockwise. It'll take a firm pressure to break the torque initially, but once it gives it'll come off the rest of the way by hand.
