If you were to kidnap a person for ranson, what troubles would you encounter?

A post office was robbed before and I was watching the TV with my girlfriend. Ryan Tubridy was on the Late Late and I got to thinking, if you kidnapped him and demanded a ransom what would happen? Probably the result of many action-thrillers over the years, but nonetheless in real-life these things happen.

My girlfriend said you would have about 10 detectives on your case straight away, 24/7. I then said you would have great difficulty in setting a "Meet off-point" where you would excange the person for money. That is getting away from the meet-up point with the money in hand, your life intact and not being in cuffs.

If anyone know has a clue as to what difficulties you would encounter when kidnapping a person for ransom, or your chances of getting away with it, etc please post. It could make a great topic.

This is all fierce illegal... anyways.

First of all how would you kidnap him? Break into his house at night?

Wire the money into a numbered Swiss bank account. When you get said money simply do away with Tubridy. That said, bar his mammy, who would pay the money over?

Rookie mistake, always kidnap the child or partner of the rich person, much more chance of getting ransom transferred to a Caribbean island bank account.

I suppose when he is leaving his house first thing in the morning pull up outside in a van. Throw him in the back and drive off. Obviously you would need a gun to get him in, or 2 very big men to pin him down and then toss him in. (or 2 very big men with 2 very big guns )

I say you'd get at least €5 million. He has been on a 6 figure wage-contract for a good couple of years.

You could try this but maybe replace the candy with coke and the promise of doing another toy show.

    .

2 big men to get tubridy in a van? I don't think so - he'd prob snap in half if you touched him - no need for them!

Would anybody actually pay to get Ryan Tubridy back?

If you do decide to kidnap him, I'm starting a fundraiser to get you a load of money to keep him.

Just definitely being 100% sure! There is a remote chance he could slip away if there is 1 man.

Just make sure you get the cops to drop the ransom off in the park, under the big net.

Nah, she'd be thinking of that nice life assurance policy she has on him. She may well try and force you to kill him before you plan to. Keep an eye on that on. Cunning.

Would anybody actually pay to get Ryan Tubridy back?

I'm sure that inbred FF family of his would rise to the occasion.

Hell even that beak-nosed busker relative of theirs would probably chip in the daily €2.19 worth of spare change he manages to collect on the back of his 'performances'.

Lol, why ask for a ransom to have him returned when you could just ask for a ransom to off him. You'd get paid a lot quicker.

    where to stash the corpse.

Need to put some pressure to get the money quickly. I would suggest cutting off a finger every 6 hours and sending it to his family until they come up with the cash. Start with a ring finger and leave the ring on so it's identifiable. Show you mean business.

The question to you op is..

Why do you think anyone would pay to have Tubridy handed back?

Cut up the corpse and stash the parts in bin-liners and leave them out for collection.

ENSURE that you use heavy-duty bags, otherwise you might hear the doorbell ring, and find a binman thare asking you for a heavier bag cos the arsé has fallen out of this one :pac:

So hows this for a plan

Forget Kidnapping a target where you are relying on family to make your cash

Kidnap Sean Fitzpatrick (banker who fcuked up the country ) Set up a on-line video link showed Mr Fitzpatrick tied up ,surrounded by lovely torturing equipment . and offer the following .. For ever €10,000 donated to your off shore account the level of harm/torture does up .

    LIKE A TELETHON...

You could also have a wish list with fixed prices ie removal of finger €5,000 Broken Bone €1,000 etc etc

Sure A few people would donate :D

The handover would be the hardest thing to sort out. Someone has to stick his/her head above the parapet to collect, and that's when the law and order types swoop. Not much getting around that. If you kidnapped someone of ahigh net worth (€5m) you wouldn't even be able to do the swiss account option, because they'd go interpol on your ass. You're better off doing someone with a €250k ransom or something more reasonable but, at that level, the amount of risk and hassle probably means you're better off earning an honest living.

For a useful outline of the other complications, see The Disappearance of Alice Creed (cracking film).

PM me if you've other ideas. For a law abiding citizen, I spend far too much time thinking out the practicalities of audacious criminal acts. :)
