Any recommendations for good DJ mix albums? I like the Berghain Series (Ben Klock etc.), Boogybytes Series and Immer by Michael Mayer. I'd like to check out some of the Fabric series too - any suggestions?

    Thanks

call me old fashioned but for me when it comes to DJ mix albums you can't beat Sasha & Digweed doing Renaissance & also Northern Exposure.
Paul Oakenfold's Goa mix is excellent too, enjoying the latest incarnation of this too.

There are some great Global Underground ones too, the older ones ;)

Anyone care to update this thread?
I was just listening to The Document by Andy Smith, I know it's mostly not electronic but mix albums surely come under the electronic music banner. Also the Journeys by DJ Coldcut mix is excellent.
Nowadays there are so many amazing mixes posted online (soundcloud, mixcloud etc) that it's hard to keep up.
    Any recent gems out there?

Not recent but the best mix cd of all time in my opinion is Liam Howlett's Dirtchamber cd.
What style of music are you into?

My favourite are mixes that use music from all sorts of unrelated genres yet it still works. Optimo from Glasgow can do that.
    Also the recent Mumdance Fabriclive

Jesus I loved the stuff Mumdance had released previously with Novelist and couldnt wait to hear the Fabric cd. Thought it was the biggest pile of sh!t I'd heard in a long time. The first 5 tracks sounded like he just recorded someone messing around with a modular synth for the first time.
If you havent heard the Dirtchamber Sessions cd get it pronto, its exactly what you are after, Beastie Boys mixed in with Barry White and old school rave mixed with Sex Pistols.
2 Many Djs As heard on Radio Soulwax is similar blending genres.

I've also started buying all the Masterpiece albums - Francois K, Armand van Helden, Goldie & Soul II Soul ones are good.

A lot of the Fabric Live albums cover loads of different genres, Diplo, John Peel, Scratch Perverts & Spank Rock off the top of my head

Thanks for that. Admittedly I rarely get to listen to the Mumdance album as it's pretty abrasive at times.
I'll check out the Dirtchamber album.
I also love DJ Rupture, Chrissy Murderbot, Kid606, they all did great mix albums.

John Digweed's Transitions series 1 - 4 are all super ! 3 is a bit weak but still great ! The Watergate CD series has some seminal mixes in there 'Pan-Pot', Ellen Allien' & Kerri Chandler' to name a few. Also the Soma 20 Years CD is absolutely amazing (cd2) !! hmm what else.... the Soma compilation 21 mixed by Gary Beck. For a bit of Minimal I would reccomend Magda's 'Shes a Dancing Machine' Great breakthrough mix from her, for some pumping party Techno-Tech House check out Carl Cox and Jon Rundell's Intec 2.

    :pac:
