Hi just got our conditions of planning. We have to get an eircom pole moved and this has been made a condition of our planning and says it should be done before work commencing on the site. Now after reading through threads i see that this can cost a few thousand and can take quiet a long time to do. Can we start buildiing our house before we get this pole removed or do we have to pay thousands to get it moved and the start and wait months before we can start building. i have a sister who has been waiting years for eircom to come out and move a pole. i was on to a lady in eircom who said they will have to do a survey first and this cost 300.00

What do yee think could we build away and worry about it later. The pole is just being moved to improve our sightlines

    Thanks in advance

    Katz,
As you said at the start it conditions that the pole must be removed first prior to commencement. So be it, as per the grant of permission. Technically you must do this.

I must add here that whomever prepared your application initially, they should have advised this at the start and basically informed you to get the ball rolling so as this delay would not hold you up now. I dont mean to get the pole moved prior to grant of permission but get your name down on "the list".

I've advised in other threads, from personal experience, see if there is a local Eircom tech nearby and see if they can expedite the process. Usually theres one in every community and I have found them more helpful than ringing HQ.

Sympathetic but thread locked as you are flying close to the wind of our charter here.
