The next generation manufacturing process that was scheduled to be implemented in Ireland is now not going to happen.

So anyone who has been hired for that process is being told they are now in training for the subsequent manufacturing process. Each process is introduced every 2 years or so.

Shannon is a very different subsidiary - it is a design house requiring very specific skills, whereas the Leixlip plant is a manufacturing facility.

A relation of mine had an interview in July 2011 for the Leixlip plant and was told that he is starting this month. He hasn't heard anything to the contrary.

Anybody else have a similar experience?

As far as I know,Intel are standing by any contracts , as long as the person is willing to travel for 2yrs (U.S. or Israel)
