    Hello,

I used to have info on this but can't find it. Is there somewhere that I can see what each country has paid into the EU and what it has received from the EU in grants/GAP etc over the years?

    Thanks

I don't really know anything about that chart or how the figures were arrived at, but there should definitely be a word of caution about the benefit/ cost data in that or any similar table.

Firstly to the per capita figures: Populations do not extend revenues uniformly within member states and no such individual benefit or cost projection could reasonably nor reliably be arrived at.

Of course, to do so would be far easier for member states as a whole however some of the figures can be quite contentious - I notice for example that the table is one drawn up by Eurosceptics, you would imagine rather a different one would be drawn up by Europhiles. Presumably Europhiles would most convincingly counter with an argument about increased revenues into member state economies through private enterprise by way of European membership, and that this is not officially recorded.

Don't know how the figures were arrived at either, but I wouldn't be too concerned about if it has measured intangible things that europhiles would like included if I were assured it included concrete tangible donations to our european neighbours like our fish stocks every year for the last 40 years...

Figures in that table are not accurate by a long way, especially in terms of money recieved by Bulgaria and Romania at first glance. Believe it or not Romanian State has contributed more than they have recieved, part of the MCV on Bulgaria and Romania.
