    Hi,
I've been to berlin previously and really enjoyed both the history/people etc so i'm thinking of heading to germany again.
I'd appreciate any thoughts about hols in munich at the end of august.
    1. Ryanair fly to 'munich west'. Is it far from central munich timewise?
how to get there? cost/time etc?

    2. What part of the city would suit a tourist best for sightseeing/tours etc..?
    3. any other info re tours and what to see/do there.

    thanks in advance

    digzy.

    1. there is a direct bus from memmingen airport to munich, takes about 80mins and costs €15 one-way. the train will cost more as you have to add in the price of the city bus into town http://www.allgaeu-airport-express.de/index.php?plink=index&lg=uk&lg=uk

    2. i was there during the beer festival so really i hadn't a choice in the matter, it was either out in the suburbs or pay silly money for city centre hotel, having said that munich has a good public transport system and the city isn't too big (certainly nowhere near berlins size)

    3. the olympic park area of the city is lovely and if its a fine day you could spend hours out there, the concentration camp at dachau is about 10miles from the city centre, nymphenburg palace. about 2hrs by train south of munich is fussen at the foot of the alps, if you have a chance i recommend it highly, beautiful part of the world famous for neuschwanstein castle, inspiration for disneylands castle http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuschwanstein_Castle you can also walk across the austrian border from fussen town centre, the border is about a mile away and you pass by a nice waterfall on the way
