    Good price, but it's 50£ = 60e roughly

Thanks, looks like a good price. Decent feature set too.

Perhaps you haven't had them delivered yet; but if you have, would you be able to say how good the speakerphone/mic is?

EDIT: There is a set of phones for a tenner cheaper on ebay

Anyone have any recommendations for or against the cheaper ones?

I have the twin pack of those, work fine. Mainly use them when on conf calls. Loudspeaker and mute (secrecy) both work, sound quality is good.

thanks - but which ones do you have, the Panasonic on Amazon or the BT on ebay that I linked to?

I presume it's the Panasonic ones in the thread title, just like to check please.

    Hello,

Can someone confirm that the use of DECT phones are legal in Ireland?

I thought they were, but was told by someone from Comreg that they weren't legal here.

Aldi and LIDl sell them rehularly so doubt if they are illegal.

I bought the same Panasonic phones as a 2 set off Argos last month and can confirm that they are very good.

    Would these work with ntl?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,809 ✭✭✭edanto

I'd say so. I used to have ntl in my last place, and there was just a normal phone connection into the router.

So, assuming you have the same setup, these phones will work fine for you. The main phone is the only one that needs to connect to the phone line, the other 3 just need to be plugged into mains power.

I'd really recommend these, the speakerphone on them is great and it's a bit luxurious having 4 handsets spread out around the house.

Can someone tell me if you can turn off each handset. I mean switch it off completely so it doesn't ring? Thanks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,809 ✭✭✭edanto

Yip just did it there, dead easy. Hold down the power (red) button on any one handset and it powers off. The rest are still connected and working, and the one I powered off was the main handset.

    Ok thanks Edanto.

I'd be pretty sure they should.

Does anyone know if these phones work with a wired headset (have a 3.5mm heaphone port on the side)?

    Thanks

The ones I have have a 2.5 jack - think that's standard for phone....

You are right mik_da_man, I have a similar one to yours. But I was wondering about the cheaper model mentioned earlier for family.

Folks do these phones have date/time for the caller id?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 264 ✭✭evostik

Do all four handsets have the speaker phone facility or is it just the master phone. Thanks

    yes and yes

I bought these phones and got them today. However there's a problem. They came with a phone wire with the connection in the below picture. It says in the book that these phones can only be used with this wire.

Do I need to send them back or can I use a regular wire that I have in the house? What did everyone else do?

That's a UK plug, just use a phone cable you have already, it will work fine
