Diamond plate - Is Aluminium the best?

    I want to fit some diamond / chequer plate at the base of the doors on my van.

    Is aluminium sheet the best - i.e. corrosion proof / easy to fit?

    Can I cut this with a metal blade in a jigsaw?

    Whats the best way to smooth off edges - or do people attach a trim on edges?

    What thickness works best?

    Where is the best place to get it?

    Any info / tips appreciated , Cheers
