Maybe my contacts need changing or maybe im mad. But has anyone seen a fireball traveling through the sky (Kildare area) in past 10 minutes?

Was taking cats litter tray from shed and looked up. Dropped the tray when I saw it.

    (Edit: It was travelling West)

I'd go with believing it was whatever it actually was, not what I wish it was.

Honestly, does turning off your critical faculties and trying to convince yourself that every moving unidentified thing you see in the sky is something cool not diminish the coolness of something genuinely cool??

If it was a fast streak that lasted 4 or 5 seconds then you saw a cool bollide. If it was something that traversed the sky over the course of 30 seconds or a few minutes then it was a chinese lantern. Convincing oneself that every chinese lantern one see's is a cool UFO or meteor fireball surely only diminishes the special time when one happens to witness the real thing.
