    Hey Folks!

This query might be better suited to another forum but here goes....

During the week I ordered a high spec laptop from a US based company. It is being shipped to me using UPS.

My question is, what are the chances I will be caught for customs duty on this laptop? Has anyone recently ordered a laptop from the US + if so did ye get hit with customs?

    Thanks in advance!

Typically what has happened to me is that the delivery company has been hit with VAT on entering ireland and then bill me that cost. I've never bought a laptop but have bought smaller cheaper things. I used to try to get things delivered by normal post as sometimes this avoids customs inspections

Thats a balls so, but even if I do get hit, it will still have been cheaper.
