Was out for a spin this morning, haven't been out in a while. Good to see some well needed maintenance taking place has definitely improved some of the more trickier sections and sped them up.

We noticed what seems to be a new trail being built on the far side of the trail any truth to this? Anyone know if it's gonna be an additional loop or just an extension? Definitely room around those parts to expand significantly.

Would this trail be suitable for a hybrid bike? I own a €300 hardtail bike, nothing special but would like to give this track a go.

If you look at the Coillte offroad cycling strategy document Derroura is mentioned as a potential regional trail centre, but on page 16 the criteria for a regional centre requires 2 or more loops so it is possible that another loop is being constructed. Having said that, this is coillte we're talking about so don't hold your breath.
