    Do your theory test first.

You can apply for a theory test a number of ways:
    1. Apply online at www.theorytest.ie
You will need to have a credit or laser card or payzone voucher. You'll need to have your PPSN number to do this and an email address
    2. Apply over the phone. Number is 1890 606 106
You will need to have the same as above
    3. Apply by post
You can download an application from the website. You can pay by postal order, cheque or bank draft

You need to sit the Category BW Cars Tractors and Work Vehicles exam.

The test costs E40.60. You need to study from the 4th Edition Driver Theory Test Book or CD Rom. You will be asked 40 questions and need to answer 35 or more in order to pass.

On the day of your theory test you will need to arrive 15mins before your scheduled time and you will need to bring a valid form of ID and 2 passport sized coloured photographs.

If you pass your theory test you will be issued with a certificate. This cert is valid for 2 years.

You can then apply to your Local Motor Tax office for your learner permit. You will need to the following to do that:
    1. Completed Learner Permit application form (ususally available from Motot Tax Office, garda station or library)
    2. Theory Test Cert
    3. Eyesight/Medical report (these docs are only valid for 1 month)
    4. 2 passport sized photos
    5. E15 fee
    6. Form of ID

Hi, I have a little question.

I heard there isn't much difference between the tractor and car theory test, does that mean I can learn the questions from the car test book?

    thanks ;) .

Once you pass your theory test and get a provisional licence you can drive a tractor on the road

Yeah the theory test is the same for a tractor and car
