    Ya, Bubbles is back yo!

I enjoyed the episode and it had a real urgency that some of the previous episodes have lacked. The twist at the end may not have been the hammer over the head it seemed.

The babies blood card looks to have been switched in photos I have seen on another forum.

Here is the card when the sample is drawn

Here is the card that is handed on
    vlcscreensnapz04.jpg

People may think the above is just an error and it may be but with the scrutiny that fringe gets from some quarters of the internet I very much doubt the show would make sure a glaring mistake with close up shots.

    Just for added awesomeness.

Loved this episode. Felt the way they rushed the birth of the child was a bit too convenient. Other than that I loved it.

anyone a bit meh we didn't get any revelations from it, (other then the convenient rushed baby), we don't know where they are going with all this...

If it hadn't have been just renewed I would have said yes,but theyhave plenty of time and Id imagine coming to the season finale we will get some answers.

i think its great that they rushed the baby plot along, not dragging it out, i think fringe is good that way that they dont drag dull storylines out,

i thought it was a great episode, i kinda suspected walternate of being behind it, an now wonder is lincoln a marked man now that he knows the secret, also charlie seemed to give him an odd look when he was talking about what else they dont know, i wonder if charlie knows more, (and the heel test result, as said did someone do switcharoo on walternate)

4 episodes to go, so the pace is picking up now, should be more switching between each side that should lead to a crossing of parties, but will wlaternate come here or will walter go there, it should be interesting,

also when charlie and lincoln were on about taxi driver, was something insinuated that there was something different about it on there side,

They said it was by Coppola rather than Scorcese. Also West Wing has made it to season 12 now :)

I really didn't like this episode. That kind of accelerated foetal growth is a ridiculous stretch, even for Fringe. Maybe if they had done it in an interesting and creepy way, but instead it seemed like they were trying to rush a dull plot-line arising from an ill thought out twist. Also, I've seen enough giving birth scenes in films and television to last a life time. Add in Lincoln's sudden, inexplicable declaration of love for Altivia and I was starting to question whether this show deserves to be renewed.

The other side is far more advanced than us so I wouldn't have thought accelerated foetal growth was that far fetched.

It was intense and medical creepy in parts, i liked it alot and gave it top stars. I'm not convinced about the switcheroo theory, probably just a continuity error. Also i didn't gather the purpose of checking blood was to do with getting to our side moreso to do with having the baby power the weapon.

As for faetal growth, i think Walternate had more advanced tech then say hospitals on the other side, i'm convinced as well Walternate didn't just want the baby for his own ends but wanted both the baby and Olivia to survive, the pre eclampsia would have killed her or the baby.

I think Walternate knew this so speeded up the birth etc.

If this was any other show I would pass it off as such but with the degree to which some people scrutinise this show and the extent to which Fringe puts detail into each episode I can't see it as such.

I don't follow the constant examination of the show but some people break it down frame by frame every week looking for clues and puzzles. Sea horses are a big thing for some reason. Did you see this weeks ? ;)

Our universe has often been referred to as the blue universe and the alt one as the red universe. Does that mean we still have yet to see a the yellow one ?

Also on the same theme Baby was wearing both Blue and Red :pac:

Bit of a slow episode this week which felt slightly similar to an overly long version of the latter half of the bug episode. They even had the will she won't she die bit. The reveal at the end was quite good but does it mean that Walternate is in league with the Observers?

Can't remember if it came up before but has it been explicitly shown that the Observers on both sides are one and the same or are they alternates (alterservers :p)?

Same thing used to be said about Lost, but 9 times out of 10 such details were continuity errors. I suspect the scene of the blood card being handed over was shot before the scene of it being taken from the baby. Either that or the prop went missing and they had to make a new one.

 that is a rather shocking and disturbing level of fanaticism gone amock!

Seriously, over analyse much?....me thinks the producers are playing into fanbois hands with this one, bet they laugh their heads off in the writers room.

the yellow universe will be the joining of the red and blue universes. Don't you know your colour combinations! ;)

Thought this was back on track - a little bit slow but it moved some arcs along. Having the baby grow fast is hardly much in the Fringe 'verse - we've seen far less believable stuff.

I like Lincoln's character and hope he's not bumped off any time soon (in either 'verse). Since he seems to have romantic feelings for Fauxlivia this might come in an interesting angle when they all meet Peter.

    Walternate's a right bad ass.

West Wing - Season 12... Oh don't tease me so. I'd gladly live in a universe with Kentucky Grilled Chicken for that.

would be interesting to see peter and linc fighting over the olivias, did lincoln fall for our olivia while she was altivia, she had differences to the actual altivia, did those traits spur on his feelings, like altivias did for peter,

Shouldn't we just settle on calling her fauxlivia, as it was referenced in the show??????

Add in Lincoln's sudden, inexplicable declaration of love for Altivia and I was starting to question whether this show deserves to be renewed.

I wouldn't say it was inexplicable, he was expecting the birth to kill her, and his actions to date suggest he had feelings for her. Am I remembering correctly, but did they make a reference to Lincoln dating Fauxlivia at some stage in the past in a previous episode?

Edit: No, they didn't go out, but he kissed her one time, but didn't realise she was in a relationship.

I think this one was a little better than some of the recent episodes. However, on the whole, it felt like a little bit of a sidestep re the main story, despite what the episode brought us.

Let me ask a stupid question.
What is the baby blood card good for? Walternate is its grandpa, he could have taken the blood test without these James Bond tricks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,132 ✭✭✭✭expectationlost

well the whole point is that walternate faked the kidnap in order quicken the preganacy to avoid the disease killing the baby, how many times have they inferred that the lab guy may be a mole to turn out he wasn't

I might be being dense but is there any reason why Walter wouldn't simply openly offer the advanced technology that would allow a safe birth for both mother and child? He is the "almighty leader" with access to all sorts of experimental technology and it is his grandson she's carrying so it would hardly alarm her given that he's already frequently offered her any assistance she might require. I'm just a little confused as to the need for the whole kidnap charade.

I sick of all these stupid breaks every 3 weeks. I wish it just had a straight run like Lost.

cr*p episode, just doesn't have the same atmos. as Lost did.
Why does Fringe have a 2 week break now ?

I imagine this is a suitable replacement for experimenting on children as he was so vocally against. He sped up the birth as the hope will be they dont need Peter now or any more experiments

    Another week without Fringe :(
I hate getting up on a Saturday to find there's no Fringe episode waiting to be watched.

Yeah, but why didn't he just say, "hey ye know what, i have this newfandangled device that can speed up gestation, and save baby and mother"? There was no real need for him to go to all the subterfuge.
