Libyan Military Promotions

Libyan state television said Gaddafi was promoting all members of his armed forces.

It announced: "(The) brother leader of the revolution has issued a decision to promote all members of the armed people who are currently drafted in his various military units for their heroic and courageous fight against the crusader, colonialist assault."

There has been Libyan reaction to this development:

Willie Al-Hassan from the Libyan Military Other Ranks Anti-Crusader Representative Organisation welcomed the decision but highlighted the failure of many reserve units called up three weeks ago to slaughter women and children in Behghazi from the Crusader Cronies Imperialist Swine Peoples have yet to receive their Reserve Travel allowance and subsistence payments. He also expected the Glorious Leadership of the most High Command of the Army of the Chosen Warriors of Islam would conduct the interviews for promotion in line with current agreements.

Lt Col Brian Muhammad expressed reservations as he explained that many vacancies had been created anyway by the Imperialist Unholy Swine using Nuclear and Chemical weapons against civilians, some of which hit Air Force pilots who were killed and now the vacancies had to be filled anyway. Lt Col Muhammad was unavailable for comment yesterday as he was helping the Revolutionary Peoples Court Of Arbitary Justice with their enquiries into anti-revolutionary behaviour by placing his testicles into a chestnut griller for two hours.
