Windows will not boot!!!!!

I started my pc this morning and Windows refuses to boot. It starts of fine but just hangs on the Windows logo. I tried getting in through safe mode but when I press F8 a black screen appears and nothing else happens. I know the hardware works because Im using the pc now with Fedora. I also tried using the Windows 7 CD but after the start-up files load it hangs again. Any ideas anyone?

The Advanced Boot Options menu lets you start Windows in advanced troubleshooting modes. You can access the menu by turning on your computer and pressing the F8 key before Windows starts.

Also - if you've tried that already, can you get access to DOS mode?

Cheers Biggins, I tried that and no menu appeared. I did a complete reinstall and its working now.

Aaa right, fair enough.

(Remember to back-up your stuff/work for a while - just in case especially if the problem might return. You/we should always back-up important stuff anyway externally.)
