Was looking for oil for a petrol Fiesta. All the oils now seem to be petrol and diesel. I do not know much about oils etcwant to risk it before asking is it OK to use a petrodiesel when the last oil put in was for petrol engine .

Last oil was havoline - like this can but for petrol
-and cost around 10 euro per litre . Now i see things like Castrol for about 18 euro per litre. Am I missing something?

They are different prices in the same way that wines are sold at different prices!

You need to get the correct oil for your engine. I've no idea if you have a brand new Fiesta or a MkI so can't recommend the type of oil.
Maybe this will help you or alternatively look in your owners manual!

Edit: are you looking to top up your oil or change it altogether? If topping up then maybe stick with the same type - I presume that is semi_synthetic but check.

+1, use what the manufacturer recommends and don't be persuaded to throw in anything else :)

Its the grade and specification of the oil you use thats important, as for your car, an 01 fiesta still doesn't narrow it down, have you got a 1.25, 1.3, 1.6 or one of the diesels?

Did you check your owners manual? I found a few sites which recommended 5w30
