I bought a chiminea heater in Homebase and because its made out of iron, it says on the box that it will rust.

If I coat it in Hammerite will that help ?

appreciate this is After Hours but the collective knowledge of the folks here who know a little about everything might help. Anyways. dont know where else to ask :)

    Indulge me

    thanks

Cover it in lacquer varnish then light a fire in it to help it dry out.
    Itll be grand...

Look up paint suppliers. There's more than likely paint out there for that specific purpose. You have to be careful introducing paint to heat depending on what's in it the paint could either go on fire or kill someone with fumes.

You have to use this stuff

    http://www.fireplaceproducts.co.uk/Fireplace-Products-Fuels/Hotspot-Stove-Paint/

anything else could cause untold damage to your head..
    could poison your whole neighbourhood..
    your house could blow up..
    you could inhale deadly fumes..

    Only kidding...

But yeah use that stuff, it works.
    Only costs about a tenner.
Use a tin at the start of each summer.

    :)

Oh or blast it with piss?

No but if you coat it in actual hammers it will do something.

    I'm not sure what though
