Hi there, Lace Weeper here, 4 piece Hard Rock band based in Dublin. We are currently seeking representation to take the band to the next level. In January we released our debut EP independently and have booked shows solid across Ireland until the Summer. We have all the nitty-gritty work out of the way, presskits, promo shots, promotional CDs etc. and have a strong gathering that is quickly growing. The idea behind the release was to build up a fan base so in the Summer we want to record an LP we will have an audience to buy it. Basically an establishment campaign until the Summer is what we're currently undertaking. We've reached a point where we don't know how to take it further alone without the necessary contacts, and having another mind on board who is 100% behind the music we feel we would be able to make something amazing happen. If you're interested in our full plan details and would like to get on board, links are below:

You can hear the debut EP streaming on these links:

    Thanks, Matt

Great stuff lads! just a useless piece of advice, try improve your fb likes, it looks so much better when a band has 3,000 likes even tho they might be the worst band you have ever seen live

Very sad but very true. FB Likes are the new Myspace "Plays".

Hey there, thought you might like to know: there was a guy who used to post around these parts last year; went by the name of Zendali – he might be interested as he was certainly all about bands needing management to take them to the next level. Do a search for the username.

Though, if I may, I’d like to impart some helpful perspective on what you hope a manager will bring to the table. As an up-and-coming band (who, as you say, have done everything possible yourselves) you’re sort of stuck in the middle in regards finding a manager who will be of much help.

What a band like yourselves would really benefit from is a proper management agency (who have proper contacts and work with professional bands) yet in a catch-22 kind of situation – these agencies are seldom interested in working with up-and-coming acts. What you’ll find is lots of people who will “manage” the band, book gigs, help with other duties but these are not things you can’t do for yourselves. Y’see, there is this myth that the all-important person necessary in order for a band to get the coveted prize (a high profile tour; record deal, etc.) is a manager.

But like I said, the problem facing indie bands is that they can’t get the attention of top managers so might have to settle for some run-of-the-mill person who, while they can certainly help out, doesn’t necessarily bring that much to the table (and you could be sharing 15-20% of your income with this person too). Unfortunately, you may have to go the distance yourselves and see how your album performs before anyone credible takes interest that can seriously help your band.

I’d certainly recommend a publicist if you have the money. The question is whether an emerging band ever needs a manager. Often bands take on management after they have been signed and are touring, not before.

Thank you so much for taking the time for such a thought out reply, I mean that. We've covered all grounds and have a one year plan to get us to the next ''level''. We've started the relationships with labels and have had many shows booked for the promotion of the EP, Radio interviews on Nova, the works. It's a matter of building the fanbase that little bit more and talking to the PR etc. to get this album for the Summer really moving. Don't worry, we know what we get with a manager, no dillusions that they'll make us Major Rockstars with Mr. Record Man :) Thank you so much for the reply, I'll look into him. Really, Thanks!
