how could you set it up so you can only accept friend requests from your friends list

if they were in your friends list well then they wouldn't be adding you as a friend sur....

the friend adding system works through messages so therefore you can't block messages from randomers either...

you can block specific people but you can't block complete random people unfortunately

so in answer to your question - no you can't do it right now

Think you misunderstood me,meant friend requests from randomers. There's an option for this on xbox and was just wondering if there was one one for the ps3.

Son keeps getting boosting invites scams and the odd abusivie message on the ps3.

Thanks fior the reply anyhows at least it while save me time from trying to find something that wasnt there!

No way to do it on the PS3 and it's such a shame the option is not there , when he gets a message that is abusive use the grief option and then add user to the block list.

By holding a master account, a parent or guardian can restrict chat usage or the monthly spending limit for the wallet that can be used on PlayStation®Network by sub accounts (accounts that are used by minors).

You can set these restrictions by logging in to the PS3™ system using the master account, selecting (PlayStation®Network) > (Account Management), and then using [Manage Sub Accounts] from the PlayStation®Network page.

To create a sub account you must log in as a different user from when you logged in to create the master account. To create a new user scroll all the way to the left on the XMB over to "Users" and create one from there. You must also be signed into the new user to create a sub account.

    Part One:
    1. Select Sign Up for PLAYSTATION®Network under Friends (far right) in the XMB.
    2. Select, "Yes, I want to create a new account."
    3. Enter your country of residence, language, and date of birth.
    4. Enter the sign-in ID and password for the master account that will be associated with the new sub account and press Continue.
    5. Enter the sign-in ID, password, security question, and the answer to the security question and then press Continue. You can also choose whether you'd like the password to be remembered on sign-in. Be sure to write down your sign-in ID, password, and the security question and answer just in case you need to reference back to it later on.

That will not stop the following:

*Sub account receiving / sending a message , including ones with a photo attached.

*Sub account receiving / sending / accepting a friends request.

The sub account can play games over their age limit at the parents discretion, but even with a sub account and chat set to block messages still get through.

Chat invitations can be received but not taken up and they can not be sent buy the sub account.
