Just seeing this tonight (missed it at the festival).

Some really great acting performances in it and an excellent story and script.

I avoid all trailers and publicity for movies that I haven't yet seen, so not sure what the press has been like about this film but it is controversial story in parts and some of the scenes appear to be real military footage, perhaps not.

Really wasn't expecting a Ken Loach film to have this kind of pace, especially as he's in his 70's now and you wouldn't really expect something so different from him now, but it really is not anything that we've seen from him before.

The odd actor in the film looks like they are amateurs at besy and maybe something you would associate more with really low budget films, but the main players all put in excellent performances, especially the lead Mark Womack and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if he picked up an award somewhere along the line.

Oddly enough, John Bishop (the Liverpool comedian from The Panel) plays a small role in the film and held is own quite nicely I thought. It's close to two hours long but it flew in as there really is no lull in the action or dialogue at any point.

It's on in The Lighthouse until the end of March, so good chance to catch something there before it closes.
