I have a 3 year old son with a guy i used to be friends, for the past year and a half he has being in and out of my sons life, 1 month he wants to see him and will visit and then suddenly i wont hear from him for months. i have always remained close with his family and couldnt wish for better family for my son

i have just found out that he is in hospital with mental health issues, i dont know the ins and outs but im really worried for him, i dont know what o do.... i dont know if his lack of interest in my sons life has something to do with this depression. when he cut contact it was like he suddenly changed over night

i want to visit him but i dont want to upset him incase i start crying, im just so upset as i still have feelings for him but i know things would work between us anyways.

any advise on how to support him??

I guess the only thing you can say is you are there for him if he needs you or there is anything you can do.

Can you try to put on a brave face when you go to visit him? You should ask him if he wants you to bring the child though. Some people dont want their children to see them like that but some might enjoy the visit.

You just have to pull yourself together a little and be strong for people when they are sick. I know it's hard, but you can do it.
