To quote Carlito Brigante "I am free at last, free at last thank God Almighty, I am free at last!"

Well, I've finally arrivred at a point where I'm happy with my gear. I've no interest in making any more changes. How are you doing, and have you reached the point where you can live without a gear fund ??

I thought I was GAS free for ages. But it's like a plateau before the next mountain. Just go over to adverts and have a look. You'll be thinking "ah sure I don't need to eat this month" within minutes...

There's obviously something wrong with you, or your just being mis-lead if you think you can ever get out of this addiction ;)

There is one. It's invite only and frankly, it's awful at curing GAS :pac:

Just curious to know how many guitars have you got to make you 'Safe' for a while. I think for the first time in years, i have cooled with the spending too.:)

Heh, I clicked on this thread fully prepared to have to explain to the OP that there is no escape from GAS, there's just a brief respite before the next dose hits but loads of other posters got there before me :).

Frankly Bod1, you might be happy with your gear now but who's to say what hot piece of kit will have you drooling next week?

I have thought of myself as GAS free for over a year now as I sold on about 5 electrics (Deluxe Players Strat, MIJ Telecaster, Gretsch Electromatic Silver Sparkle, Gibson SG Special, Yamaha Pacifica) and have been getting by solely on my Highway 1 Strat HSS and my Tokai MIJ Les Paul.

These guitars give me everything I need, so I keep telling myself, but lately I am starting to stare long and hard at a Candy Apple Red US Tele and a PRS Mira in my local guitar shop and hearing those familiar voices in my head.

OP keep the faith but I am due a relapse!!!

Thanks for the support lads :o, I was trying to use positive reinforcement to keep the momentum up !

    @ Darren, 5 electrics and 2 acoustics....

Now I just have to stop sticking my nose into the sound hole of the acoustics to smell the wood

I've got RAS... Record acquisition syndrome... I've got plenty of gear, but I haven't got nearly as many sounds out of them as are possible... So I'm listening as widely as possible to get the maximum sound from what I have at the moment...

    I waaaaaaaant:
    Tube Screamer
    JCM 800
    Twin Reverb
    Orville Les Paul
    Various home recording gear

There's others too but I'll hold out on those 'till I sort this lot out.
    My biggest problem?
I get too attached to everything and I don't want to sell ANYTHING I have.
Gonna be hard to hoard all of this gear, let alone find space to keep it all...:(

I swore last year that it was gonna be one guitar, one amp from here on in. Late last year I might add. No room in the house and too many little mouths to feed.
I'll be taking a trip down to Bettystown this evening to pick up Fingers McGintys Pacifica Tele from him.

The moral? Dont swear. Its not big and its not clever.

AAAARGH!!! I have been looking at that Tele for a while with a "will I wont I head on me". It looks like a peach Boycey. Enjoy it.

I'm fairly happy with my stuff at the moment. I've a few guitars I'd love to pick up but there's no real need for them and I'm not desperate for them. I could probably go a good while without picking up another guitar amp too. I'm actually planning on selling a guitar for the first time ever soon, I just need to get the wiring fixed and it's out the door. I've a feeling that once I get money from that I'll have a few purchases screaming at me though!
